pest deerComing in all shapes, sizes, and levels of cuteness, these hungry (and sometimes large) pests can be kept out best using fencing—electrified or not—or other physical barriers. Baffles around trunks of fruit trees will help keep out squirrels and other rodents, but these tricky animals will repeatedly try their best to outsmart you. Eliminate nesting habitats and food sources in your yard. You may have to resort to live trapping and relocating the peskiest of mammals. Predator urine, underground cages, and burying oyster shells or coarse gravel around susceptible plants can also help, especially with sneaky subterranean dwellers.
